Wisycom MCR54 - 4 way receiver 7.1.2023
New in my audio bag is the MCR54 from Wisycom. A 4 way receiver with full diversity for each channel. The receiver saves me an antenna splitter and allows for a compact and lightweight bag. I use the 4 digital outputs and so I still have 6 free preamps on my 833 in addition to the 4 wireless channels. The audio quality is as expected top. The range is again improved compared to the predecessor (MCR42). My only criticism so far is the power consumption of nearly 3 watts and the resulting considerable heat that it generates and the necessity to locate all 4 wireless channels in the same 32MHz range.
Together with the receiver also the new pocket transmitter MTP60 from Wisycom arrived. Finally ! Really a big step forward to the predecessors. The new highlights are:
- All parameters remotely controllable via Bluetooth, with the Wisycom App (Android + iOS)
- local recording on MicroSD with timecode synchronization
- tuning range 470MHz - 1075MHz
- Narrowband / Wideband switchable
Despite the great joy about this great product also here 2 points of criticism. First, the part is quite heavy (but thus also makes a solid impression) and secondly, you can not get the micro SD card out or in the slot without tools - really unnecessarily complicated.
